I’ve been involved with producing live stage theatre since 1986, and I can attest to the fact that it’s a roller coaster ride! Every show presents challenges, nothing ever goes exactly as planned. Sometimes it’s as simple as an amusing snafu on stage. Sometimes it’s more complicated, like your star getting hospitalized four days before Opening Night. (It was a long time ago but I’ll never forget that week!)

The current show has been no different! We knew upfront that our Artistic Director Kurt Kleinmann would be recovering from back surgery, so it was clear this would be no ordinary process. Lots of people would have to (and did!) step in to pull everything together.

But there were still those “oh no!” moments that come with every play. Did someone remember to send out an email blast? Ack, we need an extra person backstage! Ok, now we have to move the Sound Op backstage, so who’s running sound?

Then there’s the anxious anticipation of reviews. On this show, boom, three positive reviews, one after another! Relax, our work is done. All we can do now is keep putting on a superb show, keep getting the word out, and hope that you, our audience, will come see what we’re offering: an evening of laughs! See you at the show!
