Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some question our patrons ask us OVER and OVER...
Where is the theatre?

Now that’s a very good question, and the answer is: it depends!

  • Our large Living Black & White™ shows are performed at the Eisemann Center for the Performing Arts in Richardson.
  • Our smaller RadioVizion™ shows can be seen at the Bath House Cultural Center on White Rock Lake.
  • Our non-staged, play reading series are likewise performed at the Bathhouse Cultural Center on White Rock Lake

Please note that the mailing address associated with Pegasus Theatre is simply a Post Office Box located in a commercial mailing center. The staff at the postal center are very nice people, but they are not theatrical performers (that we are aware of).

Where did the idea for the Black and White shows originate?

Pegasus Theatre founder and Artistic Director Kurt Kleinmann is the playwright for the popular series of Living Black & White shows. The idea came to him in two parts. The characters of Harry Hunsacker and Nigel Grouse came first, as they represented a twist on the relationship between Sherlock Holmes (a brilliant detective) and Dr. Watson (his somewhat dim-witted sidekick). The selection of these characters solidified the era in which the scripts would be set (the 1930s and 1940s), when black-and-white movies were in their prime in the United States. It was the next logical step to treat the black and white shows as movies that had “come alive” on stage, which required researching techniques to create the amazing  Living Black & White effect. The technique has been refined over the years through research and experimentation, resulting in the incredible effect you see today.
